Air conditioning rebuilds and custom A/C installations
Sport and Classic can rebuild and update original factory installed A/C systems and have extensive experience in this area. In certain instances, we use modern compressors that pump more refrigerant and have less drag on the engine. We offer custom designed and built condensers that are more efficient and allow more cooling air to pass through the coils. As Houston is the most air conditioned city in the world, performing quality A/C work and dealing with overheating or hot running cars is mandatory. We have performed many custom A/C installations on vintage Jaguars, Bentleys, Rolls Royce and other models with great success. We also convert cars using the old and expensive R-12 systems over to the new HFC-134A refrigerant as the new refrigerant works well and costs considerably less. This is a photo of a 1965 Bentley S3 trunk area. The car is in for a new custom air conditioning
installation. We are installing a powerful trunk mounted unit with twin blowers.
As we are located in the hot swampy world of Houston, we will enhance the
cooling system with an improved radiator, our rebuilt water pump and improved fan blade with auxiliary electric
cooling fan as well. The car and owner will be able to survive the hot hell of
summer and keep cool.
