We supply new parts for a great many cars built
in England such as Aston Martin, vintage Jaguars such as E-Types, MK 2 MK9
MK10, XJ6, XJ12, XJS , Austin Healey such as the 3000 and Sprite, MG's
such as the MGTD, MGB, MGA and Midget,
Triumph TR3, TR4, TR6 and Spiytfire and many more, We also supply parts for Mercedes Benz of many
vintages and always
prefer to supply parts of the highest possible quality. Call 281.448.4739
for parts ordering or e-mail
Britishcarparts! However, high
quality manufacturing is not always the way of the vintage car parts world any
longer.
The world of aftermarket car parts manufacturing for
collector cars today is dominated by firms that have a great many parts manufactured
to unknown standards in third
world countries using slave or very cheap labor with unknown and poor quality
materials. The quality of many of these parts is uncertain. While some parts
are good quality, others are terrible. These parts have retail
prices that are less today than they were 30 years ago and to do so,
maintaining high quality is not as much of a factor as a cheap retail
price point. Sell a lot and sell cheap is the mantra. There are firms that
still do make high quality parts and we are thankful that these firms
exist but it's hard for the end user to know the good from the bad and
some owners that are very temporary owners don't care about quality, they
just want cheap parts so they can get rid of the car for a higher profit.
This parts situation makes a professional job harder to do in a quality
manner for owners that do want the best parts
for their cars.
There is a lyric by a band called Ten Years After
that was sung by Alvin Lee that goes like this:
" I'd love to change the world
but I don't know what to do
so I'll leave it up to you."
We wish we could change the downwards trend of car parts
quality and we complain a lot to manufacturers about their products but
they really don't care because there is much more profit in selling lots
of crap and we cannot convince them that many car owners would be willing
to pay considerably more for considerably higher quality parts.
Our parts buyer has extensive knowledge of parts quality
and we stock the best parts we can obtain and will as long as we are in
business. He has the eye for such things and has been around long enough
to know good parts from bad ones.
We are cleaning out and selling off 35 years of used
parts for MG, Triumph and Jaguar.
No used E-Type parts remain. We squirreled
away many tons of parts that we thought were good and many stayed in
storage ever since because we were too busy to deal with used parts. If you need something, now is the time to ask as what we
decide to not keep will be sold to a scrap metal place. We have entire
parts cars available as well including a Nash Metropolitan Convertible, MGA, TR3, 1979 Midget, lots of MGB's and TR7's, a TR6, several
Jaguar XJ6 and XJ-S No used XK parts.
We have a great many original Smiths gauges for British Cars from
the 1950's to the 1980's. Some are new and others are not new. Some of the
used gauges are in great shape and others are good for parts. There is a
tiny part number on the face of every Smiths gauge. Contact us with the
number of the gauge that you seek.
Before we discuss specific parts let us discuss parts
specifics and definitions. Few or perhaps no other parts suppliers other
than us will tell you this stuff. We do because we think that most British
car owners are not stupid and can make good decisions if they have good information. So here is some good
information.
1. New Old Stock or NOS-
Many of these parts were made by the original manufacturers to original
specifications and many of the companies no longer exist. New Old Stock parts may have been
manufactured 10, 20. 30. 40 or 50 years ago or more. These parts usually
have no return privileges because suppliers such as ourselves have no one
to return them to. We happily buy such parts as-is and sell them the same way. The good thing about
such parts is they are of original build quality and are much better than reproduction parts in many
but not all circumstances. In our shop, we usually
prefer NOS metal parts when available. However all NOS parts do not age well such as hydraulic assemblies
or rubber parts. When we sell a NOS brake master cylinder for example, we
recommend replacing any rubber parts as this action ensures a good installation
without leaks.
2. Used parts.
These parts are good useable parts that may and usually do require
cosmetic preparation or rebuilding work. These parts may be used to rebuild other
assemblies as well. Asking for a good used electric fuel pump for a 1956
Rolls Royce or MG is not going to happen without a time machine but we do
stock new pumps.
3. Rebuilt or remanufactured
parts. These are assemblies that are supposed to be
rebuilt as well as can be done and are sold on an exchange basis with a
refundable core charge applied for the return of a good rebuildable
assembly. Rebuilt parts require new parts to be used in the process
not just a coat of paint. There is no end to variances in the quality of rebuilt parts as
the quality standard is entirely up to the rebuilder. Some
rebuilders goal is to rebuild something as cheaply as possible with no
regard to quality. These companies have zero pride in their work and leave
bad experiences in their quest for easy money. The "rebuilding" process may just involve polishing and
painting or poking in a new seal here or there. Other firms
aim for a high standard such as as close
to new or even better as possible. Price sometimes is not a determining factor
as some rebuilders ask as much for their trashy product as quality firms ask for
good stuff. The bad rebuilders depend on the ill informed to sustain their
business and there is no lack of business for them it seems.
4.New and rebuilt electrical parts
are not returnable because "some" people will install them into a
car with an electrical short in the electrical system and fry the new part
or they install the part incorrectly and burn it out or damage it. These
people will usually claim the parts are defective and want to return them.
Other people will buy and use an electrical part such as a relay or
alternator to test their car with and if it does not fix it, they want to
return the part. However, the
part is no longer new and suppliers cannot sell it as new if it has been
fitted. These people will say, " But it did not fix my car." No part is
ever sold with the guarantee it will fix a car problem unless the part has magical
powers. Parts with magical powers are clearly marked and are more
expensive.
5. Rebuilt parts are not returnable but we do exchange
or fix them on the rare occasion there is an issue within the warranty
period.
6/ Special orders are not returnable. Many manufacturers
do not want special orders back so we are stuck with them if a client
refuses to pay for them. When we do a special order the order cannot be
canceled once we turn it in to the factory so we take full payment with
the order. Specials are parts that we do not stock and don't want to stock
as they are not quick movers. We do our best to stock parts that people
actually need and want to buy. However as we nor any supplier can afford
to stock every single part that was ever built, we special order parts
every week for our shop and for clients and are happy to do so.
7. If a part still being manufactured is found to be
defective with a manufacturers warranty period then we replace it or sometimes such parts have to be returned
to the factory and they decide if it will be replaced or repaired. These
issues are on a case by case basis depending on the makers policies. The
good thing is that we find very very few defective parts.
8. Reproduction parts. Some are very good, others are
very bad and others are worse than bad. If the original maker no longer
supplies a part and the part is being reproduced, it may be good or bad or
just plain ugly and may be the only part available. The end user has to
work with the part, machine it or otherwise work the part to fit and work
well. This is just the way it is.
While we are universally renowned
throughout the known universe for supplying
new spare parts for

brake and suspension parts as well as parts for just about everything
other than transmission parts although we do still offer some parts for
the transmissions such as gaskets, seals, bearings. We can supply new
parts for Jaguar cars built after 1996 as well but the earlier cars are
our forte. As we have rebuilt, restored as well as serviced all of the
above Jaguar cars over the last 34 years, we should have little difficulty
in knowing what you want.

above MG cars and having restored and rebuilt all of these cars over the
years, we know them well.

We stock a great many new old stock parts for 1969-1987 XJ6, XL12 and XJ-S cars. We stock many parts
for E-Types and as Scotty has owned many Jaguar MK II or Mark II or Mark 2
or Mark Two ( the model numbers get confusing ) cars for over 35 years, we stock lots
of parts for these beautiful cars as well.
We have for the 1960's Jaguar 3.8S
and 3.4S, new old stock rear resonators with connecting pipes, We have a
single new old stock Burgess exhaust comprising the headpipe and muffler
for a early Jaguar XK120 Coupe. We have new old stock mufflers for XK140
and head pipes as well. We have over the axle pipes for early XJ6 and some
original headpipes for Jaguar MK 9. We have a pair of old stock
headpipes for the Jaguar V12 E-Type.
Windshield glass. We can supply new laminated front
windshield glass for Austin A30 and Austin A 35 as well as many other

Mercedes Benz
We stock parts for many vintage
Mercedes Benz cars such as 190, 220, 300, 220seb, 300sel, 420sel

350sl,450sl,
500sl,560sl, 600 Pullman and many more.
A new fuel injection wiring harness for a 1971 Mercedes
Benz 300 SEL 3.5. The replacement of a crunchy and fragile 40 year
old injection loom will definitely improve the reliability and
performance of the engine. These beautiful harness's have all the correct
plugs and fittings including the main plug that fits to the fuel injection
ECU. We still supply these critical parts and many more for vintage
Mercedes Benz cars. For owners near us, we possess the original
factory diagnostic analyzer for this model that helps with difficult
injection issues.
Please send the VIN with parts
requests. Concerning all Mercedes Benz cars from 1960-1985 or so there are
many rubber based mounts that will be very deteriorated by now. These
mounts hold the suspension systems to the body. These are many other
rubber parts and they should be inspected as if these mounts have
perished, the car will wander and have a poor ride. We supply subframe
mounts for just about all models from the 1960's 108, 109, 110, 111 models
on and have have extensive experience rebuilding these cars so have a good
idea of what your car may need.
We supply many parts for Morris
Minor and many other British cars.
Upon special order we supply:
Maserati Parts
Lamborghini Parts
Bugatti ( late model)
Ferrari Parts
Aston Martin Parts
How to buy used parts from
us:
The only way to purchase used parts from us is to
call or
Email
us your requirements. Please do not drop by unannounced and expect us to
stop what we are doing to locate a used part while you wait as we are
not a salvage yard.
Please include the make, year, model and VIN of the car you are working
with. We will look up the application and let you know the cost and
availability of used parts. If
you are looking for a used something and don't know what it is, call or send us a
photo and we can usually sort out what you want as time allows.
We are cleaning out 35 years
of used spare parts and parts cars for mostly MG and Triumph cars such as
MGB, MG Midget, TR6, TR7 and Jaguar cars such as XJ6 1970-1986 and XJS
1976-1988. Check us out for used parts for these models. Buy an extra
parts car or whatever. These are used parts and none are "perfect". Keep
in mind that we do not have time to search out that used original nut,
bolt or teeny tiny little part that is worth 35 cents. Only parts with sufficient value to
justify the time to look for them will be dealt with.
As our shops have been around since
1976, we think the best way to buy parts for cars such as we deal with is
by developing a long term relationship with us as making a quick buck is
not our way as our business plan is not based on a Goldman Saks model of
ever increasing quarterly profit reports to impress shareholders. Maybe we
should have worked things like that so we could get rich but we never did.
We have a more long term view of things sort of like the Chinese do and
like to help clients with their car projects. In exchange we like for
people to buy their parts from us instead of from generic mail order
houses that know or care nothing about these cars and might as well be
selling pot holes or Love Potion #9, This is not to say that Love Potions
are a bad thing as we all need a little love but potholes get no love from
us.
We offer new KONI shocks for Triumph
TR3,4,6 and Spitfire. We have Koni shocks for many Jaguar cars and many
other cars as well.
We have a large stock of new old
stock Jaguar XJ6, XJ12 and XJS parts circa 1969-1987 such as bumper
chrome, windshield trim, lot of mechanicals and bits long
discontinued.
BCP has extensive parts stocks on hand
and worldwide sources for the remaining zillions of parts we may not have
(yet). For Rolls-Royce and Bentley parts requirements, click here and go to our Rolls-Royce and Bentley section.
We have a lot of vintage Lucas
switches, lenses, lamps and more that fit scarce cars such as Hillman,
MG1100, Austin America, Austin Marina, MG Magnette, Sunbeam Alpine,
Standard and many more British cars. You never know what we have until you
ask.
We are always looking for Rolls-Royce
and Bentley parts inventories to acquire. New leftovers, old inventories, we want them. If you have a stash of
boxed Lucas parts or original manufacturer parts that are taking up space, let us know?
When we say we have billions of car parts we say it with the same sincerity politicians though
out the ages have, give or take a few million here or there...and don't
quote us.
While we are mostly about NEW parts,
we do have a LOT of used parts available from our collection.
We are able to supply a vast vast vast array of
new parts for classic Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Bentley and other British cars
such as XJS, XJ6, XJ12, MK10, MK2, MK1, E-Type, XK120, XK140, XK150.
Our goal is not to supply the cheapest imaginable parts. We aim to supply
the best possible quality parts for people for whom quality matters. For car
owners that shop by price alone, there are other places that serve this
market. We also supply Ferrari parts when we can.
We offer certain new parts for
1960's Bristol cars, primarily the 409. We can supply ball joints,
suspension bushings, brake parts, motor mounts, many electrical parts and
some steering parts.
We have quite a few Vandevell bearing
sets for many vintage British cars and lots of original vintage Lucas spares. Never be afraid to ask.
We have a lot of original BMC parts
such as a new old stock hood (bonnet) for an Austin Healey 3000 still
wearing a BMC sticker.
We supply wiring for many
British cars going back to the 1930's. We even stock a complete wiring loom
or harness for
an Austin A-40 Somerset. We
also supply wiring for Armstrong Siddeley and lots of great British
cars.
Austin Healey parts are available as well as
parts for MGTC, MGTD, MGTF, MGA, MGB, MGBGT, MG
Midget, MG Magnette, Austin Marina, Triumph TR2,TR3, TR4, TR6, Spitfire, Stag, Austin Healey
100/6 and Healey 3000,
Bugeye Sprite,
Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Lotus, TVR, BMW and many
other current and
vintage cars. We also offer parts for Mercedes Benz 6.3, 3.5, 4.5, 280sl and
many other Mercedes. We are the Texas Moss Motors Distributor and offer their complete line of
parts for MG, Triumph and Austin Healey, XK140 and Miata, PT Cruiser and the new Mini. We also stock many lines of
O.E.M.
parts for Jaguar and Mercedes Benz automobiles built from 1950-2008. Since
1976
we have been one of the planet Earth's and specifically the Gulf Coast's favorite place to secure parts and
accessories for English cars. Don't worry about part numbers. If you have a part
number that's great, however we know the cars well and can take your description
and work from there to give you the best price and availability. We offer fine quality wiring looms
and convertible tops for just about any car manufactured in a large range of
colors and materials. Contact us for pricing.

Rare Bits and Bobs
Rebuilt Spares
Previously owned parts owned by nobody particular
This photo is Scotty's desk after a
week of identifying rare and obsolete parts. The desk is becoming visible
once again but the situation probably won't last long as he just loves to figure out what
new and unmarked ancient
British car parts fit. Some of the packaging on new old stock parts are so old the
labels have faded away and the boxes have disintegrated.. The parts will be properly identified and logged into
our database so they can be located when the need arises.
We have many obsolete and rare parts available for a wide variety of 50's-80's
British cars. Lucas Electrical, Girling brakes, Smiths Instruments, Vandervell
engine bearings, Glacier engine bearings and lots of
N.O.S. parts as well. We also have a lot of Mercedes Benz parts for 50's
through 90's cars.
We now have a few exceptionally
rare new old stock 72-73 Triumph GT-6 brake master cylinders. These
were just about impossible to get 30 years ago. We may have the only
remaining world stock of them. We also have original Harmo exhaust for
GT-6, early TR6 and some Spitfires.
B.C.P. offers a complete line of rebuilt steering
racks for Rolls-Royce and Jaguar. We offer brake calipers,
generators, starters and other quality spares at attractive prices.
We offer
great sounding ANSA exhaust systems for and have some very rare ( long
obsolete) ANSA systems for other English cars.
These
highly attractive and well built ANSA exhausts are among the finest looking, sounding and performing exhausts
ever manufactured. Contact us for prices and availability.
We have ANSA exhaust systems in stock at the moment
for all MGB cars and may well have the only existing new ANSA exhaust systems for later TR6with
a dual exhaust manifold. The early single TR6 ANSA is
unavailable.
We now have a single, new old stock ANSA
exhaust system for a six cylinder E-Type. We are considering substantial
offers for this very desirable, extremely scarce system that may well be
the last one on the planet as it has not been manufactured in 10 years or
more. Virtually every knowledgeable E-Type owner wants this system but
only one may purchase it. We also have a very rare single
set of new old stock ANSA tail pipes for the 6 cylinder E-Type also
available to substantial offer.
We also offer Bell stainless
exhaust systems for MG Midget, MGA, MGB, Triumph Stag, TR4, TR6, Spitfire and Jaguar
E-Type and XJ6.
This is a Bell stainless exhaust system we installed on a 1956 Jaguar XK140
Roadster.
We offer Falcon and Bell stainless systems
for most MG and Triumph cars. The main difference between Falcon and Bell systems
is that Bell uses more stainless and thus costs more.
With exhaust systems, you
definitely get what you pay for or don't pay for. Take headers for example. There are el cheapo
headers out there. They don't fit well, they crack, they leak, they rust out fast.
Cheapo headers break knuckles installing them and did I mention they are cheap?
The best headers are made from stainless steel yet
all headers usually require a bit of special fitting. We hate cheap junky exhausts and
consider them a waste of money unless there is absolutely nothing else available.
Contact us about all exhaust needs.
Rare parts? We have lots of new old stock rare parts
such as new old stock left hand MGA Coupe door latches.
We stock parts for the BMC Farina series
of cars like MG Magnette, Wolseley 16/60, Austin Cambridge, Austin A60,
Morris Oxford and Riley.
Return policy:
Any part accepted for return must
complete and be returned in the original packaging. The packaging must be in
as good and in clean condition as when it was sold. There are no returns allowed for any electrical part. There are
no returns allowed for special order parts.
Now why is this so you may ask?
To resell a part that has been
returned, anyone purchasing that part will want it in clean unused
condition. This is perfectly reasonable.
Electrical parts are not returnable
(unless they are found to be defective in which case they will be
replaced), because many cars have existing electrical problems that will cause a
new part to burn out. Some people will purchase a new part with the
intention of keeping it only if the part fixes their problem. If they
guess wrong, then they want to return the part and "buy" another
and on and on. This sort of thing abuses parts suppliers thus
no parts house will accept electrical parts for return.
Special orders are not returnable
because such parts may take a long time to sell to anyone else and no business wants to
tie up money in parts that gather dust.
Definitions:
Core charges:
What is a core charge anyway?
Here is how the rebuilt/exchange
parts business works worldwide.
Think of the song in the movie
Casablanca, "As Time Goes By". Certain expensive assemblies such
as steering racks, starters, alternators, water pumps, certain brake and
electronic parts are no longer be supplied new after the manufacturer
stops. If a part is
expensive or no longer available, the part may be supplied as a rebuilt
exchange unit or firms such as ours will rebuild your assembly. A great many parts are available as rebuilt exchange units.
A core value charge, usually the full value of the part or more for the return of the old part is applied on the invoice with assembles that are
shipped out to ensure the return of the old assembly so it can be rebuilt
and maintain stock.
Some cores are very valuable and
hard to find so without the return of the old part, these assembles would not be available
at all. So enough value is placed on the core part so it is worthwhile for
the purchaser to return it and get their money back. Returned cores have
to be in rebuildable condition. For example if a steering rack was involved
in a collision and is bent or smashed, there is no core value or a greatly
diminished value as the unit cannot be rebuilt. Other cores may have sat
in water or outside in mud for years and are damaged from rust. Damaged
cores have little value but some people will send them in anyway and a few
become angry or they try to appear angry when their worthless core is rejected. All valuable cores are
inspected before a core charge is returned.
We supply a great many rebuilt
parts and always prefer to have the core returned than keep the core
money as the loss of a rebuildable core creates a loss of availability of
the part for others in need.
New Old Stock or NOS
Some parts remain unsold for many
years or decades. These parts were new when placed into their
packaging and after many years have passed the never installed or used
part is called a new old stock part because is was new and unfitted and is
now old and unfitted. the companies that made new old stock parts are in
many instances no longer in business or are no longer interested in parts
they made years ago. NOS parts may not have a warranty and most do
not other than they are what they are. Most parts made of rubber are not
desirable NOS parts as rubber steadily deteriorates with time. A thirty
year old water hose will not survive pressure and hot coolant for very
long before bursting.
This said, we have original water
in stock for cooling systems from the Thames River near London available, The
water is available in vintages from 1846 to 2011. We are happy to trade
for vintage Port of the same year.
When we purchase new old stock
parts, we dispose of parts that we do not think are good to sell to
someone unless the part is kept for historical purposes.
Used parts
We have lots of good used parts. Most
used parts are exactly that and are not perfect or new or flawless.
Frequently we have people calling us for 30-50 year old used parts they
want to buy but the parts must be perfect. By definition, there are no perfect used parts
and many were never perfect when first made but there are many good used parts.
We have nice original MGTD
fenders, body tub, frame, fuel tank, doors, windscreen assembly, original
gauges and more. Amongst our used spares we
have Jaguar engines from the 1960s, a nice solid frame for a Triumph TR3,
Stag engines, a TR6 parts car, MGB and Midget parts cars, Jaguar XJ6 and
XJS parts cars, Austin Healey 3000 parts cars, Maserati parts car, lots of transmissions, differentials,
Smiths instruments, engine blocks and the remains of lots of cars we have disassembled
over the last 33 years. We have a few original Austin Healey 3000 aluminum shrouds
left.
You can get rich! We will sell our entire used parts inventory as a single lot,
by the pound or by the
piece however we do not have time to search the piles for little bitty
used parts though such as the original screw for the dum-a-flatchie that
would take two hours to remove. Come and get it all and start a
successful used British parts business!
